CCMB is also permitted to offset RHPZ impacts for select projects.
About The Property:
The Colbert-Cameron Mitigation Bank (CCMB) started the permit process in 1996, making it one of the first mitigation banks in the state of Florida. Volusia County zoned the mitigation bank (and most of the surrounding tracts) for forestry resource or conservation land uses. More than 40% of CCMB’s 10-mile perimeter is contiguous with other large, protected natural lands including Buck Lake Conservation Area and other mitigation banks.
Credits were awarded to CCMB for ceasing land-uses adverse to natural habitat management (livestock grazing, timbering); habitat restoration through prescribed fire and thinning of dense pines; and perpetual land preservation.
The property features various upland and wetland habitats. The mitigation activity that was permitted for CCMB is Preservation.
